Monrovia was named the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation's "Most Business Friendly City" award in 2011, and this is how: Monrovia is dedicated to our businesses, and offers a variety of incentives to help your businesses succeed. We have:

Competitive Fees

The City has among the lowest fees in the San Gabriel Valley according to the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC). Our staff works hard to research and maintain reasonable costs.

No Utility Users Tax

The City keeps its fees low by not having a Utility Users Tax, which we've seen in other cities as high as 7 percent on all utilities.

No Parking Tax

The City keeps parking convenienant by providing ample and free street parking, in addition to the public parking facitilities in Old Town.

Fasttrack Permitting Process

We know that your time is important. That's why we will work with you to get your plans approved and your business open as soon as possible.

Business Ombudsman
The City will assign a representative to work with your business with any business related issues to ensure that your needs are being met.

Project Coordinator
The economic development team assigns a representative to personally see to it that your business moves through the entitlement and construction process expeditiously.
