Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony
Kick off the holiday season in style by attending the Tree Lighting ceremony! The event takes place at 6:00 p.m. in Library Park. The Annual Christmas Parade is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The parade travels north on Myrtle Ave. Both events take place on Thursday, December 4. Enter your home in Monrovia's Holiday Home Decorating Contest. Judging will take place on Friday, December 12. Applications are due by noon. Categories: Best Still Display, Best Neighborhood Effort, Best Outdoor Display, Best Window Display, Most Traditional Award, Snowman Award, Best Decorated Indoor Tree, Children’s Choice Award, Best Decorated Outdoor Tree, Toyland Award and Most Effective Use of Lighting a House. All entrants are automatically entered into the Tim McKeehan “Best of the Season” Award. Decorations must be visible from the street. Locations of all applicants will be included on a Holiday Home Tour Map. Winning homes will receive a decorative yard sign to be displayed throughout the holidays and will be recognized at the December 16 City Council Meeting. Santa Visits
Ho, Ho, Ho! Santa has made arrangements in his busy schedule to visit good little boys & girls! For a $35 Monrovia resident fee (Sorry Santa visits are for Monrovia residents only) you may have Santa visit your home or office in Monrovia. Santa visits begin December 10 through December 24. Visits are held from 12 noon until 7:30 p.m. Visits are 20 minutes in length. You may reserve a Santa on December 24 until 4:30 p.m. You must submit Santa Visits Reservation Form at the Community Center beginning Monday, November 24. Reservations must be made at least one week in advance. Sorry, no phone reservations will be accepted.

Spring Egg Hunt & Events
Bring all your little bunnies to the annual Spring Egg Hunt and Events on Saturday, April 11 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Recreation Park, 620 S. Shamrock Avenue. Registration for the ever popular egg hunt begins at 9:30 a.m. and is for children ages 2 - 12. The spring fun will include Arts & Crafts, Face Painting, Carnival Games, Spring Bunny Photos, Teen & Toddler Activities and refreshments. Come and join us for this fun and hoppy event!

Fourth of July Celebration
Fireworks, fanfare and fun are planned for the City's annual 4th of July Independence Festival and Fireworks Show scheduled for Friday, July 4 on Myrtle Avenue (between Olive and Palm Avenues) in Old Town Monrovia. There will be music, entertainment with a grand finale of amazing fireworks sponsored by the Monrovia Old Town Merchants. Come and celebrate our Country's Independence Day here in the All-American City of Monrovia!

Food, Wine & Jazz Festival
Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. back in the heart of Old Town at the 500 block of Myrtle Avenue (between Lime Ave. &Colorado Blvd.), in Monrovia, CA.
Attendees spend a leisurely evening under the stars, at this annual end-of-summer soiree, sampling menu specialties from area restaurants and sampling wine and spirits from California vintners and spirit producers while enjoying a variety live jazz performances. All the proceeds from this enjoyable event benefit Monrovia-based community organizations.

Halloween Home Decorating Contest - Guide to '08 Homes & Winners
Enter your home in the Annual Halloween Home Decorating Contest! If you plan to decorate the outside of your home with ghosts, goblins, pumpkins and other scary or fun Halloween decorations, then this contest is for you! Contest applications will be available by the end of September at the Monrovia Community Center, Monrovia Public Library, City Hall or the Chamber of Commerce. Winning homes will be recognized at the City Council meeting and a map of all entries will be available for those who wish to take a self-guided tour.

Haunted Hike in Monrovia's Canyon Park
Monrovia Canyon Park would like to invite you to come out for an evening of chills and screams as we take you on a staff led hike through the dark and eerie canyon. The hike is approximately ? of a mile and takes 45 minutes to complete. It is packed full of scares guaranteed to make even the brave unnerved!
