Monrovia's online news bureau, City NewsCast (CNC) delivers the community's news stories, headlines, and announcements using podcasting technology and MP3 audio files. Listen via iPod, MP3 Player, website or cell phones with MP3 Player capability. Each week, you can hear Monrovia's local news by clicking on the links below or download from iTunes or http://www.citynewscasts.com. City Newscasts features up-to-date information about what's happening in Monrovia, narrated by professional reporter Jonathan Chance, featuring local event information, breaking news, legislative updates and general announcements - all available 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week.

You can get weekly Monrovia newscasts two ways:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR LISTENING TO MP-3 BROADCAST
To listen to the MP3 files on the CNC website you can use the following players:
  • If using Windows Media Player, it must be version 9.0 or higher.

  • If using Windows Real Player, it must be version 7.0 or higher.

  • If using Quick Time, it must be version 7.0 or higher)

  • MP3 DOWNLOAD

    If you would like to subscribe to and receive Monrovia's newscasts each week on your computer, iPOD, PDA or phone, you may do so for FREE through the iTunes website.

    Take these simple steps:

    • When you open iTunes, you will see a list of categories on the left side of the homepage. Click on Podcast to view your podcast library.

    • To subscribe to the Monrovia podcasts, go to the Advanced menu located at the top of your iTunes window and click Subscribe to Podcast.

    • Enter (or paste) the URL in the box that appears. - SEE BELOW

    • When you first subscribe, a new folder will be created and the most recent podcast will start to download.

    • Once the podcast is in iTunes, you can play it from within iTunes, or if you have another device, you can copy it and play it from there.

    • By default, after you subscribe to a podcast, when you start iTunes, the application will automatically check for new podcasts. To force the update to see if there are new episodes available, clink on the Update button in the upper right corner of the iTunes window.

    The podcast newsfeed can be subscribed to by either searching for it under PODCASTS, NEWS & POLITICS; or by using this link if you have iTUNES installed:

    PODCAST URL: To get the podcast URL, right click on the POD button below and select Copy Shortcut. Open your iTunes player and paste the shortcut into the URL box as explained above.
