ELIMINATE UNIVERSAL TRASH
Effective February 9, 2006, Univeral Waste - items with lead, mercury, nickel-cadmium, lead - acid, and other toxic metals - cannot be thrown into residential trash containers. Monrovia residents can take these items to any Household Hazardous and E-Waste collection events. Universal Waste can also be taken to local Goodwill centers as well as the Monrovia Recycling Center. If by chance, you are unable to make it to any of the above centers, you can call our Monrovia Curbside Service, and they will pick up one free bag of household hazardous waste curbside. You may also take your universal waste to a permanent facility; permanent facilities are open to the public weekly. Please see a list of disposal options below.
