In 1995, the City Council adopted the Historic Preservation Ordinance. In addition to the criteria and regulations for local historic landmarks, it established a Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) to provide oversight of the program. The HPC consists of seven Monrovia citizens appointed by the City Council to a three-year term. Meetings are held quarterly on the Wednesday following the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at City Hall. For additional information, please see the HPC sidebar located on this page.
